Video Conference sessions boradcast from the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum

The AFMM is working in partnership with the Department of Education and Training School of Distance Education Connections program and author Paul Stafford to deliver a series of innovative writing workshops using video conferencing technology.

Taking an 11 metre Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton on tour to remote schools in Western NSW is not an option for the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum in Bathurst.

And so to the rescue comes Scattered Bones, a video conferencing experiment, generously funded by the ArtsNSW operating through the DET's Connections program. It will help overcome this regional disadvantage and isolation, allow virtual tours of the Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum, lectures by professionals on aspects of the collection as well as a series of scaffolded writing workshops by author Paul Stafford.

Video Conference sessions will be broadcast regularly from the Museum during 2010. Contact the Musuem for further details.
